HEAVY MENSTRUAL BLEEDING IN MIDDLE AGED WOMEN

Your flow is heavy it:

  • Your flow soaks through tampons or pads every hour for a few hours in a row
  • You need to change pads or tampons during the night
  • You fully soak six or more regular (or three or more maxi) pads/ tampons.
  • You collect more than 30 ml of blood in your menstrual cup

Your flow is medium if:

  • You use between two and five regular (two or more maxi) pads or tampons (fully soaked).
  • You collect between ten and 25 ml of blood in your menstrual cup

Your flow is light if:

  • You use between one and two regular pads/ tampons (fully soaked).
  • You collect between ten and 5 ml and 10 ml of blood in your menstrual cup

Your flow is very light if:

  • Pantiliners are sufficient for preventing leakage
  • You collect less than 5 ml of blood in your menstrual cup.

What is a Colposcopy?

A Colposcopy is the exam of the vulva, the vagina and / or the cervix with an instrument called colposcope. The colposcpoe is like a pair of binoculars placed on a pole to the floor.

When is it done?

A Colposcopy is performed after an abnormal pap smear test, to determine if the abnormal cells are the result of a vaginal infection or due to inflammation or something else serious.

Living with endometriosis is painful – during, after & before periods siva

Endometriosis is a condition in a women’s body in age group 15 to 50 , where the lady menstruates regularly yet its painful. Endometriosis patients will have regular or irregular , mostly accompanied by any one of the following associated symptoms:

  • Severe to moderate pain during periods
  • Pain while passing motion during periods( in case of bowel involvement)
  • Pain while having intercourse and a few mins after intercourse
  • Spotting bleed in vagina a few days prior to periods or a few days post periods.

CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING – PAP SMEAR

photo_2019-10-30_12-48-40 Cervical Cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women, which is why every sexually active woman age 25 or older must complete this test. How is a PAP Test?

  • The Doctor introduces a speculum (Metal or plastic instrumnet) to separate the walls of the vagina.
  • The Doctor take the cells of the cervix using a spatula (a stick) or a cytobrush (special brush)
  • The Doctor spreads the cells taken from a glass slide.
  • The Doctorexamines the uterus and ovaries to detect abnormalities.
