What is a Colposcopy?

A Colposcopy is the exam of the vulva, the vagina and / or the cervix with an instrument called colposcope. The colposcpoe is like a pair of binoculars placed on a pole to the floor.

When is it done?

A Colposcopy is performed after an abnormal pap smear test, to determine if the abnormal cells are the result of a vaginal infection or due to inflammation or something else serious.

No, this not true. It is important for couples to understand that the causes of infertility are almost equally shared by female and male partners. In fact, each sex has their own set of sympotms that may suggest infertility, such as testicle pain or change in period flow.

PRE PLANNING A PREGNANCY IN DIABETES IS ESSENTIAL unfortunately for couples trying for a baby, diabetes in one of the partners can lead to additional problems that increase the risk of infertility and pregnancy. Diabetes can cause erectile dysfunction, low testosterone levels, poor sperm quality, etc. In men while in woman, it cause decreased thyroid levels and ovarian function, thereby resulting in infertility in the long run. Diabetes in pregnant women can even lead to abnormalities in the child. photo_2019-11-09_10-20-39

  • Semen analysis is a key investigation of the male partner when u r trying for a baby
  • Male partner needs to be open minded for a discussion with the fertility consultant during the consultation for a proper diagnosis or guidance
  • Not every male member has an abnormal semen analysis report – so u dont have to be all that scared for this test
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 days abstinence is a must prior to this test for proper results
  • If u have a problem collecting semen for this test – pls inform ur consultant – Drs can guide u.
  • If u have a abnormal semen analysis – discuss the report with ur fertility consultant and take adequate treatment
  • STRESS, INADEQUATE SLEEP, IMPROPER HYDRATION, INADEQUATE PERSONAL HYGIENE ,UNHEALTHY DIET are the main parameters in decreasing fertility trends in our society.
  • Its always advisable to get professional help than being reluctant when it comes to FERTILITY ISSUES
