Physiological Vaginal Discharge:
It is white, clear, non offensive discharge which varies in amount and consistency with menstrual cycle.
Pathological Vaginal Discharge :
It can be due to various reasons like
- Non infective causes
- Non sexually transmitted infections
- Sexually transmitted infections

- Treatment of sexual partners
- If you are a diabetic, keep your blood sugar levels under good control
- Always do a routinue cervical cancer screening- pap smear every once in 2 years [ for women between 25 yrs to 65 yrs]

Vaginismus
Vaginismus Definition:
Vaginal tightness, discomfort, burning, pain, penetration problems, inability to have intercourse… sound familiar?

Symptoms:
1) Burning or stinging with tightness during sex
2) Difficult/impossible penetration, entry pain, uncomfortable insertion of penis
3 ) Unconsummated marriage, not by the couple’s choice
4) Ongoing sexual discomfort or pain following childbirth, yeast/urinary infections, STDs, IC, hysterectomy, cancer and surgeries, rape, menopause, or other issues.
5) Ongoing sexual pain of unknown origin, with no apparent cause
6) Difficulty inserting tampons or undergoing a pelvic/gynecological exam
7) Spasms in other body muscle groups (legs, lower back, etc.) and/or halted breathing during attempts at intercourse.
8) Avoidance of sex due to pain/or tightness.

HEAVY MENSTRUAL BLEEDING IN MIDDLE AGED WOMEN
Your flow is heavy it:
- Your flow soaks through tampons or pads every hour for a few hours in a row
- You need to change pads or tampons during the night
- You fully soak six or more regular (or three or more maxi) pads/ tampons.
- You collect more than 30 ml of blood in your menstrual cup
Your flow is medium if:
- You use between two and five regular (two or more maxi) pads or tampons (fully soaked).
- You collect between ten and 25 ml of blood in your menstrual cup
Your flow is light if:
- You use between one and two regular pads/ tampons (fully soaked).
- You collect between ten and 5 ml and 10 ml of blood in your menstrual cup
Your flow is very light if:
- Pantiliners are sufficient for preventing leakage
- You collect less than 5 ml of blood in your menstrual cup.

What is a Colposcopy?
A Colposcopy is the exam of the vulva, the vagina and / or the cervix with an instrument called colposcope. The colposcpoe is like a pair of binoculars placed on a pole to the floor.
When is it done?
A Colposcopy is performed after an abnormal pap smear test, to determine if the abnormal cells are the result of a vaginal infection or due to inflammation or something else serious.

CERVICAL CANCER SCREENING – PAP SMEAR
Cervical Cancer is the second most common form of cancer in women, which is why every sexually active woman age 25 or older must complete this test.
How is a PAP Test?
- The Doctor introduces a speculum (Metal or plastic instrumnet) to separate the walls of the vagina.
- The Doctor take the cells of the cervix using a spatula (a stick) or a cytobrush (special brush)
- The Doctor spreads the cells taken from a glass slide.
- The Doctorexamines the uterus and ovaries to detect abnormalities.

Facts About FIBROIDS IN UTERUS
- Not all Fibroids need surgery.
- size and location of fibroids decide the treatment type.
